First Christmas alone and I wasn’t sad, nor did I feel as lonely as I thought I would feel. Talking to my Lola on Christmas eve and hearing her cry was the hardest part of the holiday… Skyping with my extended family members on Christmas day was a definite highlight. I “saw” some new family members, got to “meet” my godfathers fiancé, learned that my aunt is due to deliver her first son soon (and I wondered why nobody remembered to tell me that she was pregnant!!), and had a virtual tour of my Lola’s new house. Talking to my parents was nice too.
I aleo spent a lot of time playing games on my semi-new PS3 and I think that nerding out on video games beats boring holiday parties any day!
Other highlights include:
- Cooking a mighty meaty Christmas dinner of garlic and bacon fried rice with korean beef bulkogi
- Sleeping in and waking up at 2
- All the packages and cards that came in the mail
- The phone calls and texts from old friends
- Dressing up for dinner on the 25th at my favorite north beach restaurant
